Repairing a broken fuel line retaining clip on the 6.7L Power Stroke

If you’ve ever serviced the fuel system on the 6.7L Power Stroke you know how difficult some of the quick connect style fittings can be.  The quick-connect style plastic fittings are great for assembly on the production line but can make for difficult maintenance due to the variation of styles and types used.   Add in the effects of age and heat and the connections become brittle making the risk of breaking a retaining clip even greater as the vehicles age. This is where Fleece Performance stepped in with replacement retaining clip options for the most common connections on the 6.7L fuel system. The kits include multiple options to address an emergency repair on the 5/16”, 1/2 “ and 12mm fuel feed and return connections as-well-as a bulk 14-pack kit for servicing outlets.

How to identify the style of clips:

½” and 12mm fuel feed line – dual action locking clip

To further harden the 6.7L Power Stroke fuel system, Fleece Performance produces a heavy duty aluminum under hood filter base to eliminate the risk of cracked filter housing as-well-as a heavy-duty replacement injector return fitting for both the 2011-2016 steel body 6.7L Power Strokes and 2017-2026 Alumiduty Power Strokes. The plastic factory injector return connector on the 6.7L Power Stroke is susceptible to breakage from heat, vibration, and frequent disconnections for fuel filter maintenance.  The new injector return fittings feature a dual O-ring internal design and serviceable barb fitting.

The drop-in replacement filter assembly locks directly into the stock filter location and utilizes a replaceable spin-on Donaldson filter that is easily serviceable.  The kit includes an extra Donaldson fuel filter, further extending the time before you need to purchase an additional filter.
